(Peri)menopausal flushing - can it just be the face?

A bit of a weird question - can (peri) menopausal flushes affect ONLY your face? My face sometimes turns bright red and feels like it’s burning, but the rest of me is still chilly as usual and I’m permanently huddled in a jumper.

I’m 44, so probably the right age for the start of hot flushes, but just not sure if that’s what’s going on. I assumed hot flushes would actually make you feel hot all over!

Yes, I had that. Sometimes occasionally still do if I forget to take my HRT gel.

Sometimes it’s just my feet and lower legs as a variation.

Gosh, how weird! I had no idea it could work like that. I was thinking it might be rosacea or similar instead (especially as it’s much worse after wine). Thank you!

Yes, it's the weirdest sensation having just one part of your body feel so hot for no good reason, isn't it!

Yes - I read about menopausal women asking to open a window at work, say, or stripping off layers, so I always assumed hot flushes would make you feel literally hot. I don’t feel hot at all! But my face is (once again) bright red and angry looking. Confused

I started experiencing this symptom a couple of years ago, and initially I thought I had a temp or I was coming down with something (I didn’t and I wasn’t). I also felt cold everywhere else at the same time.

I then twigged it must be related to starting perimenopause. I didn’t really have any other symptoms at the time, but I certainly do now. Yay 🙄.
