Having my implant removed

Hi All

So, I got the implant (Nexplanon) for the first time in April 2022 (5 months after DD was born). It's not due to be removed until April 2025.
However, I am keen to track my periods etc as I've got no idea how long my normal cycles are etc. Before exH and I started TTC, I was on the pill and had been since my teenage years (due to acne - I wasn't sexually active until my late teens/early 20s) so I'd been used to taking the pill for 3 weeks then having a bleed in my 'withdrawal week'.
Obviously H and I are separated now (applying for a divorce next month), I'm not sexually active (and not interested in anything like that) so not worried about falling pregnant any time soon or getting an STI etc...

Just wondering if anyone has had their implant removed before the 3 years is up and, if so, how did things go? I've read that fertility returns to normal almost immediately after removal, so did your periods return as expected or were they heavier/lighter/regular/irregular?

I had my 1st and only implant removed about 5 months after it was put in. The physical side effects had been awful. A few days after it was removed, I felt lighter all over, less bloated. I can't remember about my periods. They were irregular anyway and not very heavy. I had the implant as a form of birth control as hubby didn't like/trust condoms. He had 'the snip' shortly afterwards....

I had my implant removed to have ds. Now 11 yrs old. I got pregnant 4 months after removal. So no issue really. I did track my periods during this time and used ovulation sticks. We weren't all over each other either! Maybe I was just lucky.
