Spotting before Period

So for the past few months I have been having a small amount of blood when I wipe once or twice 2 to 3 days before my period properly begins. Before this I would always bleed properly from the off.
Is this the type of change I should see my doctor about or normal?

I had this when ttc. It can be a sign of endometriosis or poor ovulation leading to low progesterone or both. If you are ttc I’d see a dr, or if you have painful periods.

No not trying to conceive, I am actually in perimenopause and taking progesterone orally.
Periods not painful either, I have the usual mild pmt but nothing like when I was younger.

I used to get this too, when I stopped the pill. Since I’ve got pregnant I’ve never had abnormal bleeding so I’m presuming it was hormonal. The GP wasn’t hugely interested when I told them about it but might be worth mentioning if it’s new?
