Cyst like structure on right ovary in unusual location

Has anyone got any experience of this?

Am 40 and went for an ultrasound last night following heavier periods over the last few months. A tiny bit of pain during periods and over the last couple days I've had a few small jabs in my right side. I have just ovulated.

The sonographer said she found a very small cyst like structure on my right ovary in an 'unusual place'. She said not to worry but she would check ot with her colleague and ot might need follow up.

I'm a mess today, can't stop googling ovarian cancer. Frightened I am going to leave my two little girls without a mum.

Could it be a fibroid? I have a large one which is attached to my ovary. I'm leaving it alone as I would have to have a hysterectomy to remove it.

I would have thought she would have said it's a fibroid if she could see that's what it was. I don't know.

I'm pretty sure that my fibroid was referred to as a cyst but can't remember.
I know it's easier said than done but try not to panic. I'm sure it's nothing serious.

I had a cyst adenoma on my ovary, it was fine, removed and all good. Try to remember it's far more likely to be a cyst

Hi, did they do a vaginal camera inside so they could see more. I have these cyst on overies and they come and go. I get really bad left lower pain and the Dr says they bust.. I've got them on kidneys that also come and go. I've got 3 on my liver. Not effecting anything. I've got cyst on spine. They are usually harmless.. I know it's harder said than done not to worry..
I was like you too.. You can get these cyst in unusual places as well.. They are usually benign..

@StmMary yes she didn't see anything on the external scan so she went internally and that was when she saw it. She said that cysts come and go but she would speak to her colleague.

I had cysts ages ago - maybe 10 or more years ago. Nothing came of them and I had 2 kids since

I'm concerned they haven't ordered any bloods yet so I will call them on Monday to arrange that.
