Fibroids: Anyone offered surgery for multiple fibroids?

Hi - I am really suffering with pelvic pain and my hunch is that it is caused by the multiple fibroids I have (not helped as I have IBS too). I had an Ablation 7 yrs ago with success/no bleeding since, so that solved the anemia but the fibroids remain. My most recent scan says much the same as the one 18mth before: multiple fibroids, largest about 1.5cm.

I am waiting to see if the GP will refer me to gynecologist but a) the wait time sounds like months , if not yr+ ( and I am already on 2 other waiting lists ), and b) what's the likelihood of them offering me surgery if not of the individual fibroids that big? I am so bloated and feel really heavy and congested and the aches /pains getting me down. I know this sounds flippant but I'd love to have my uterus taken out. (I have had big surgery before so I am not meaning to sound like |I think this is an easy option).

I am also going to have bladder investigations due to the pelvic pain. But I am sure its the fibroids and fear I will be left just to get on with it. I'm 50.

Kc

I had surgery for fibroids a few months ago. It was under Bupa I’m not sure I’d have been offered a myomectomy on the NHS. I think it would have been waiting and then a hysterectomy. However, your fibroids sound very small if the largest is 1.5cm. Mine were much much larger than that and the surgeon said he’d try and get out as many as he could but he wouldn’t be chasing after any that sort of size.

have you looked into UFE?

Thanks. I will look into that . I'm hoping my GP will refer me to gynecologist and can see options. Think part problem is no definite what cause of pain is. I had routine urine tests and PV swabs to tile out other stuff, and I have microscopic blood in wee few times so waiting for investigation into that . But sure it's gyne . But I also have IBS . Um . Thanks for replying. I had a 10cm ovarian benign tumour when I was in late 20s , removed , and I had v little symptoms with it and it not palpible. So since I've been v over anxious when get pelvic pain . Just shows 10cm tumour on ovary little pain , lots small fibroids , lots of pain ! Kc
