New Mirena and smear test - hand hold moment

So had first coil fitted 7/11. Fine for two weeks, then spotting and shorting after a fill on period (somewhat expected as was due 2 days after coil was fitted).
That was all done with by Xmas day and I had due smear test 3rd Jan. This has wonderfully kicked off spotting again.

Are we thinking this is just a new coil and spotting within first 6 month is fair game?
I have terrible health anxiety, so this plus the test results is proving to be a lot to handle.

Don't worry synthetic hormones can really alter your cycle. Try to fill your time with lots of absorbing distractions. Books, films, comedy is good.

I think my fear is why the smear has kicked off the spitting again or is it just coincidence. Guess nobody knows.

Quite possibly. Stress can affect hormones too. You are going for your smear anyway. Just try to forget about it. The test is a small moment in time. Don't spoil all the days surrounding it from fearing.
