Internal ultrasound discomfort

Hi everyone, hoping someone may have had similar! I had an internal ultrasound yesterday, and the lady was absolutely wonderful and very gentle, but when she looked at my ovaries the pain on my left was shocking. There are no signs of problems with my ovaries themselves, and what was picked up was the start of fibroids (US was requested due to twice monthly periods that are very heavy). I came home and took some paracetamol and laid down with a hot water bottle, it wore off. I've woken today with the most awful ache in my left side the same as yesterday, it hurts to walk. Is it possible to bruise an ovary with an internal scan? I will be trying a warm bath and another hot water bottle, I've been spotting since but I expected that. I don't think there's anything that can actually be done, just wondering if it's normal to be experiencing this level of discomfort almost 24 hours later?
Thanks x

I've had internal ultrasound scans a couple of times, and not experienced this. It might be worth speaking to your GP or or hospital gynae dept tomorrow.

I had an internal scan to try and remove a tricky IUD a couple of years ago. It was, for some reason, excruciating on one side. Every time the probe angled that way I was unable to stay still.

I don’t recall if it lasted afterwards or for how long, but I suspect it was a case of the wand pressing on some kind of tendon issue, or maybe having a tight hip flexor.
