I've been to the GP and I am going back again. But I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar and coukd shed some light.
My left breast has been feeling full and stingy inside. Mostly on the outside part of my breast near my arm. The nipple has been going very dark and changing back to normal colour again. The other breast and nipple is unaffected. Nipple is very sensitive to cold.
Background is I am 40. Mother and grandmother had menopause mid 40s, so maybe something perimenopausal? I came off the mini pill 2 months ago (4 weeks before this first showed up on breast) after being on the for 6 months trying to control hormonal migranes but had bleeding for the whole 6 months. Maybe something to do with pill?
Dr did give me an antifugal and antibiotic to see if it cleared it up 4 weeks ago. I didn't have any temp etc then. It did get better (especially the nipple which was scabbed looking at that time) abiut 80% but never fully and I would say is back nearly quite as bad now. I did also have an unidentified primary bacterial infection last week (identified through bloods) so maybe this was infection in breast? I've never really heard of this before though. No lumps, no dimpling of skin. No family history of cancer. Last breast fed 4 years ago.
Sorry that's very long. But was just wondering if anyone else experienced similar?
As I said I am going back to GP but she did seem as clueless as me ad to what was going on. She did say she will send me to the breast clinic if it doesn't clear up. Ours currently has a 10 week wait for the 2 week urgent referral! If needed I could go private.
