Abnormal Spotting for one week

Hi everyone,
Just a bit about me, have had regular periods, not on the pill. Two young kids. Have thyroid and TSH is slightly elevated. Have been through quite a stressful few months with new work and loss of loved ones.

Seven days ago I noticed some spotting after trying to pass a bowel movement. Earlier that morning my husband and I had sex and put it down to potentially a more vigarious session causing the spotting. As it didn't improve i managed to see my GP two days later to perform a pap smear and she ordered an internal ultrasound.

Luckily I got the ultrasound done with no concerns and currently waiting for my papsmear results.

Spotting is very light and I only need to wear a liner. It's only when I wipe down when I noticed a pink tinge sometimes brown. However whenever I pass a bowel movement I've also noticed bright blood when I wipe.

I'm seeing her again tomorrow but am wondering if anyone has experienced this?.
I know women can spot from time to time without any serious underlying issues however with me passing a bowel movement with blood on the tissue that's added another level of anxiety for me!.

Also no issues with passing bowels.
I do feel run down and have put it down to 'its that time of the year'..

You are sure it’s from the vagina? After a bowel movement is just when that sort of thing shows up, isn’t it? Blood, fertile mucus, whatever. Not sure at what point it would be reasonable to go back to gp with a persistent problem…
If from the back passage, definitely go back to GP.

Only bright red blood if I pass a bowel movement. Similar to what I'd see if I have my period as well.

I'm on levothyroxine and - the pill that is meant to stop periods.

Opened my bowel completely normal this morning, with no drama, next thing I know I'm on a period/breakthrough bleeding. 🙁

@guttedme what were your symptoms. I'm experiencing vaginal bleeding following bowel movement week before and after period. Colposcopy clear, ultrasound clear and bloods clear but still really worried as it's unexplained. Scan showed I had adenomyosis but GP couldn't assure me that causes the spotting. Waiting to see a gynae but it's a long wait! How about you?
