PMDD blood tests

I went to the doctors recently as I have been having extreme hormonal changes, normally around 2 weeks before my period I become depressed and suicidal, I was a self harmer when younger and for the first time in about 20 years I have felt like doing it again (but havent).
I have spent the last 20 odd years on hormonal contraception but came off everything about 2 years ago.
I have started taking vitamins and read that the combined pill can help (and I was wanting to start back on hormonal contraception anyway) but was told they needed a second opinion due to my age and on the border of my bmi. I was then told that she had discussed with others and they had thought of an alternate path then the pill.

I have been asked to have blood tests which are
Lipids and Urea and electrolytes but I can't figure out why. These are the only blood test I have been asked to have.

Can anyone help?
