Name change for this as extremely personal....
I've long been worried that my vagina is a bit weird. Inside the opening there's like a flesh ring all around the outside that kind of stings when touched.The way I'd describe it is like my hymen is just extra thick / fleshy.
Sex has always been fine when I'm in the mood and lubricated. It does sting a bit a bit when a partner has used their fingers inside my vagina so I just ask not to do this.
And I've had a transvaginal ultrasound in the past for early pregnancy and potential endometrioses exam, and smear tests, so I assume a dr would have mentioned something if it was really weird?
But the reason why I'm asking now is because I'm 36 weeks pregnant and trying to do perineal massage and it just really stings to touch! I'm worried that no one in my pregnancy has looked at my vagina and to add to it, I'm planning a home birth, and what it if causes complications?
I'm about to have my 36 week check up with my midwife on Friday, is it ok to ask her to have a look??? Do I try and book a drs appt? Feels so awkward but I don't know what to do, and I don't want the first time someone looks at my downstairs to be when I'm in labour and then I end up having to have a c section or something...
Or am I just having a pregnancy panic??
