Tested positive for HPV virus

I've just received a letter to say I've tested positive for the HPV virus and they will do another smear test in a year's time.

I feel a bit all other the place. Is there anything I can do to help my body fight this? Any advice or further tests I can get to put my mind at rest? I just feel for the next year I'm going to be thinking do I or don't I have cancer. Perhaps I'm over reacting from the shock?

I'd really appreciate any advice.

I had it and my body cleared itself of it after time.

@Sassi81 can you get the hpv vaccine as an adult, having already had hpv?
Mine went away too, but it comes back sometimes - once you have it, it's always there and can come back

@CestLaVie123 Yeah, you can have the vaccine up to age 45, even with an active infection.

It’s not as effective as if you had it prior to having HPV obviously but some studies have suggested it offers a protective benefit.

Worth taking it in my case because I spent most of the last year having to take immunosuppressant drugs so something worked because it wasn’t my immune system!

Well I've still got hpv and CIN
not gonna lie I am fuming
I know I'll calm down and there are worse things but I have spent hundreds of pounds trying to boost my immune system and the fact that my veruccas cleared gave me false hope
