Colposcopy needed - smear result

Hi, I have been told I need a Colcoscopy as I have tested positive for HPV and gave irregular cell changes on my smear.

I've always kept my smears up to date, I'm late 40s and in a monogamous relationship.

I have to wait til the end of January as it's "low risk". I am wondering do I pull the plug and go private? I hate waiting. I've already spoken to the hospital department and there is no chance I'll be seen this side of Christmas.

I'm not panicking anymore although I was initially. But I don't u detained why I'm not either???? Inertia?

Anyone else been in my shoes?

Thank you

Hi @m4rylou

Sorry, I don't see your post last week. My biopsy results came back back as normal! Nothing to see here! I'll be recalled annually for a smear from now on. All good!

I also in the same window of time found a lump in my breast. I ended up getting a mammogram and a biopsy in the same week as the colposcopy. Thst also came back as normal. I feel like I've had a female MOT!

Good luck to you too! I hope it's all going ok for you :)

Had a friend bowels polyps dealt with in 2 weeks whilst I was dealing with a fuckbroid at the GP’s laugh,
they say no tummy ache after the 2 week referral, had the procedure a couple of times not even needing sedation.

personally I wouldn’t trust the nhs now for any gynae related things.

Delighted for you @Guttedme ! I had a similar journey and feel we can breathe out and rest assured all is fine . For others finding this thread in the future and having done a very recent deep dive myself please remember this is a very very slow growth area for anything sinister.. it takes years to become anything nasty.. don't worry if there is delay it's not going to do anything in the weeks or month you have to wait ... xxxx
