Yesterday morning I woke up with a strong fishy odour coming from the vagina, this morning I feel itchy and I’ve noticed this when I wipe? There seems to be a tinge of blood in there. I have health anxiety and I’m terrified

my period ended a week ago

the dr prescribed cream for bacterial vaginosis , this was before I had this when I wiped, could this be BV? What do it look like? I’m quite worried. (I haven’t started using the cream yet)

Is there any chance you could still have a tampon in? Might be worth visiting your GP/walk in to get that checked out?

Missingmyusername · 08/12/2023 11:11

Tampon I would think. Happened to someone I work with, the smell was horrendous.

healthyfruit · 08/12/2023 11:12

Thanks for your replies , it definitely isn’t because of a tampon as I only wear pads. My GP doesn’t have a walk in service , it’s strictly appointment only.

& I won’t be able to get an appt till next week. I’ll keep an eye on it, I probably do have BV but I’m not sure is this discharge normal? It’s constantly there when I wipe and quite itchy

You've described BV symptoms- the smell and itching. Use the cream!

Bilingualspingual · 08/12/2023 11:13

If your doctor has already diagnosed bv and given you medication you haven’t used it, couldn’t this just be a symptom of it?

allhellcantstopusnow · 08/12/2023 17:13

...what? Your dr has given you a prescription, use it?

veeolay · 08/12/2023 17:32

It's BV, use the cream you've been prescribed! No idea why you're worried when you literally have all the symptoms, a diagnosis and a prescription
