Mini Pill - Zelleta

Hi There,

I started on Zelleta nearly 3 months ago for heavy periods which were causing anemia.

The last few weeks I appear to be getting a number of side effects, headaches, dizziness but my anxiety seems to have reached a new level - mostly around my health.

Has any one experienced this? Does it get better? Whilst it seems to have solved one problem I appear to have caused another!

Thanks

Hi Archer,

I appreciate your post was a while ago now, but how are you getting on? Really hope these side effects have either settled for you or you've found another solution.

I have been on Zelleta for almost 4 weeks now as a first port of call for dealing with severe PMS. The first few weeks were mostly great but this week I've found I've been so tired, headaches nausea etc. I know they can be side effects but strange how they have only just hit me. I notice your side effects came a few weeks later too.

I'm worried because these in the extreme were all part of my severe PMS so I'm wondering whether it's working Hmm

I'm also a terrible health anxiety sufferer so I'm with you there. X

So I’m one year in now!

Have stuck with it and do believe I’m out the other side, I do appear to be in the minority and have a monthly bleed, however this is 100 times better than before being on the pill! However anxiety definitely hits the week before my period starts but the fact I know it’s coming helps a bit! All other side effects appear to have gone.

Spoke to the GP about it and they continue to push for the coil as being the other alternative, which I’m really not up for! They have mentioned a pill with even less hormone but equally I feel like it’s been such a journey that I don’t want to start all over again!

Hope you see some improvement soon! X
