Anyone been on Noriday? GP prescribed it to me today as I can no longer take combined pill. I didn’t know if it was a popular pill to take or not and are there any horrible side effects?

I know everyone is different just wondered if anyone had any info that they can share.

I took Noriday for a couple of years, and experienced no side effects that I can remember.

Noriday works great for me. It’s the only progesterone only option I’ve tried that doesn’t leave me constantly spotting so that’s a win!

Noriday needs to be taken within a 3 hour window. The norethisterone based mini pill has a 12 hour window. The latter one is more likely to stop you ovulating. Both can cause irregular bleeding or stop your periods

Thank you 😊

Hopefully it suits me.

How are u getting on with it? I started it about same time you posted this and not sure about it...

Tinks15 · 02/01/2024 18:16

@Somerandomgirl It’s been ok I’ve not had any issues as such, although I can no longer get it now. Nowhere seems to have stock of it none at the pharmacy’s local to me or local boots pharmacy stores. I’ve been told by a two separate pharmacy’s that there is a production issue which is ongoing & they aren’t even able to order it in for me 🙄

So i’ve since had to contact my GP again & explain what I’ve been told & asked for an alternative. They’ve prescribed me Norgeston which I haven’t started yet. I’m assuming it’s similar so will be interesting to see how I get on with that.

What are you not sure on?

I'm taking it to reduce symptoms - pms and cramps etc all the usual stuff.. since started it just all feels the same as without a pill, thats why not sure, it hasnt helped with any of the symptoms, even period now as normal... ( but hey its good news for those using it as contraceptive as really feels just normal)
Was on cerazette before that, but that makes me bleed quite often and got fed up with it . So dont know what to do now lol
Ive got mine from sexual clinic, try there, i couldnt find it in stores aswell

Somerandomgirl · 12/01/2024 13:13

Aaand now started spotting..just week after period ended ☠️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ first month was normal lenght cycle ...
You still fine with it? X

PrimroseSilk · 16/01/2024 22:34

Has anyone experienced prolonged bleeding with noriday?

Somerandomgirl · 19/01/2024 13:33

@PrimroseSilk i only just started it like the op.. so far all is normal like used to be without any pill .. next period due soon, see how it goes

Have u been long on it?

I'm on Noriday for few years now, I took time off had a baby and went back on it. Its the only pill that doesn't make me be so moody, gaining weight etc. The only thing I noticed since the start of the year is that I skipped January period, got it in Feb and now no period again in March, but I can't say the fault is in pill for 100%as there was a lot of stress relating to moving etc. Also it happened to me last year where I couldn't get it in my local pharmacy but I was able to order it in another one.
