I have recently had a chest CT scan for respiratory issues. Requested by a respiratory consultant.
The respiratory consultant has informed me that the chest CT scan has also shown a 9mm calcification spot on one breast. Not quite what I was expecting to hear!
She just said it can be common, and benign in women my age (59) but that she would be referring me to the breast clinic. As obviously not her area of expertise.
I didn’t really get a chance to take it all in, and now Im starting to worry !! I have not heard of breast calcification. I have no lumps or pain on breast, I check myself regularly, and had a clear mammogram 2 years ago.
Can anyone tell me what will happen next? A mammogram I assume? 2 week wait or longer?
what are the chances of it being benign?
anyone able to offer advice.
