Hi, I’m exhausted. I’m borderline overweight/ obese but working on it but I’m beyond exhausted and don’t know whether it’s normal. I’ve been tested for diabetes and thyroid issues and my iron levels are fine. Doctors haven’t said much and don’t seem concerned. Chucked sertraline my way. Could this all be diet related? Obviously I know parents are tired but this seems much worse than anyone else I know? Is there something I’m missing or is it just lifestyle?

Peri menopausal?

LuluBlakey1 · 30/11/2023 21:24

How old are you?

FatnLazy · 30/11/2023 21:50

38, I’ve thought perimenopause but gp didn’t think that was an obvious answer?

How is your sleep?

FatnLazy · 01/12/2023 07:10

My sleep is a bit all over the place, I either sleep really well, or I wake several times. I try to be asleep by 11- tried 10 but was constantly later than that by the time I’d gone up, brushed teeth etc. DD sleeps through so it’s not as if she’s waking me every night

What hormones were tested in respect of your thyroid?

isthewashingdryyet · 01/12/2023 07:22

Vitamin D and B12 need checking too as they cause exhaustion if they are low. They are not part of routine tests and you have to ask for them.

Sleep apnoea will all make you tired.

DustyLee123 · 01/12/2023 07:25

I’d start some vit B complex, and you’re not too young for peri.

AdamRyan · 01/12/2023 07:26

Vitamin D deficiency?

pacificoceanwhale · 01/12/2023 07:50

Try a soluble magnesium drink before bed (MAG365 is a good brand)
I find the quality of my sleep really improved after I started taking it before bed.

Iron, Vit D and C complex supplements worth trying to

FatnLazy · 01/12/2023 10:19

@AttilaTheMeerkat I’m not sure, I’ve asked for an appointment to go through the results so hopefully I’ll get some answers, I was just wondering what else it could be if anything. I’ll look into the vitamin D & B12
