What the heck is going on...

  1. No kids. PCOS. 3x 1cm fibroids (at scan 2 years ago). Cervical erosion. Normal smear around 2.5 years ago.

Currently laying with deep pelvic pain post coital, feeling very bloated and bruised.

Prior to this, just before period around 2 weeks ago, I felt very bloated and had pain in my bladder not dissimilar to a UTI along with frequent weeing and pain in mu abdomen which I was worried might be appendicitis. Period came and it went away.

The actual period wasn't anything to write home about, average period, not heavy, cramps not too bad.

This week was the first time I had sex since, all 3 occasions painful with deep penetration utterly excruciating. 2x with well endowed new partner and 1x with casual ongoing partner. Both protected.

No symptoms of STD, last time I had unprotected sex was in September. Have tested clear of STIs since.

Any ideas? I'm going to ask my GP to examine me tomorrow but Dr Google is leading me down a dark and worrisome path.

Should add no abnormal discharge too.

You need to have the fibroids investigated to see if they have grown. If not, is there a possibility you have endometriosis too? The pain during sex is a bit of a tell-tale for this.

Bacterial vaginosis ? I had pain after sex with that but no other symptoms really.
Could be endometriosis. Apparently that presents in different ways

Really hope it's not endo but it did cross my mind.

Deep pain during sex
Fibroids
cervical erosion

All strongly associated with endometriosis

A new symptom today along with continued abdomen pain is referred pain in the shoulder blade.
Something is definitely happening.

Pudendal neuralgia is the diagnosis. Fucking fantastic. I have a trapped nerve in my sacrum sitting alongside the vagina.

That would not explain the pain in the shoulder blades.

Endometriosis can also get into the shoulder blades. Any pain that is cyclical in nature and or gets worse up to and including menses should be checked to see if endometriosis is present. Endometriosis is usually diagnosed via a keyhole surgery op called a laparoscopy.

@AttilaTheMeerkat is very well known on MN for her wisdom and expertise in relation to endometriosis. So I would encourage you to keep asking your doctors about it.
