Hi, I know they are many threads about UTI, probably as it's so common .
After having a recurrent and resistant UTI for most of the summer , I was referred to urology ( privately as NHS was a 12 month wait) I agreed to have a Cystoscopy to rule out any sinister cause and probably for reassurance . I'd been symptom free for 5 weeks before I had it 10 days ago. First few days after was a bit sore and stingy which can be normal but then I started with full UTI symptoms, frequency etc
I started feeling shivery and feverish yesterday so called the hospital and had to go back to be checked and yep I've got another infection so now on 7 days Nitrofurantoin. Have awful bladder pain too. I asked the surgeon what the infection risk was and was told about 40 % but I wasn't given any Antibiotics afterwards.
The test showed no abnormalities but the irony is I now have another infection anyway 😬 feels never ending.
Just wondered if this had happened to anyone else, and how common this is after this procedure. The NHS web page lists infection as a risk.
Also to anyone who suffers from these horrible infections how long does the bladder pain take to settle for you ? I don't recall my bladder feeling this painful during other bouts , unless it's just because I've had a scope in there .
Thanks for reading
