So a bit of background. Three children, youngest is 17 months and breastfed until 8 months. Periods returned around 6 months pp. Even from the first bleed it was very different, horrendous pain, very heavy lasting 7/8 days and pain opening bowels on period. Eventually got diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometriosis after thorough tests and high ca125 results. Also diagnosed and treated an ectropion at the same time. I feel like I've been given a diagnosis and told to get on with it, have tried the pill, coil, mefanamic acid and none made difference to the bleeding or pain. I've bled consistently for 3 months now. No explanation. Horrendous stabbing pain. Gp just puts it down to endometriosis. It's getting me really concerned. I can't tell what's a period and what isn't. Has anyone experienced this? I'm not menopausal age either.

Has GP not as yet referred you to a gynae because you need a referral to such a person. What has been tried to date is not working out. Both endometriosis and adenomyosis (that in particular) can cause heavy bleeding to arise and bleeding like this constantly could make you anaemic. If finances at all permit I would have an initial consultation with a gynae as a private patient, I suggest this as waiting times for gynae are miles long in many areas of the UK.
