I am a little over 3 weeks post laparoscopy for endometriosis. It was just keyhole but the endo was everywhere so the surgeon called it major. How long were you signed off work for? I am due back at work on Monday (4 weeks off) but still tired so thinking of asking for another two weeks, but 6 weeks seems so long to be off for!

Also long did you bleed for? I bled continuously but not heavily for 3 weeks then it stopped for a few days but seems to be back today. I did have a mirena fitted at the same time and had the strings checked yesterday so that could be the reason for that.

I went back to work a week post op for both my laparoscopic surgeries. The stomach pain subsided after a few days and I was fine.

I was off for five weeks post full hysterectomy.

However my job is fairly sedentary. It depends on your job. I would say that if you still are in a lot of pain and bleeding at 4 weeks post surgery I'd be tempted to speak to the consultant/GP.

Wow you must be made of strong stuff!

Not in pain anymore just tiredness but I’ve made an appt with the GP for Monday anyway ☺️ My job is desk based but very full on so I’d rather make sure I’m firing on all cylinders!

I’m sahm but I thought I should mention that 5 weeks after my laparoscopy I suddenly fainted while waiting for a train - the nurse said this is very common after this surgery because of the pressure the operation puts on [I forget - maybe blood flow to brain?]

I stopped bleeding within a couplenof days after the op. But, in the past when I tried the mirena I bled a little every day for two months when I had it taken out.

I had just started a new job when I had mine so only took 1.5 weeks off - the dr told me minimum three weeks but ideally six (which I agree - seems excessive for the procedure!). I would have taken than three weeks had I been in the job longer - I was exhausted! Same thing, had the Mirena fitted and bled for about a month but since May, nothing. Hope you feel better for it in the long run - best thing I could have done.

I was signed off for 6 weeks but never returned to work, I had two laps & then a hysterectomy .

I had two laps and was signed off for two weeks after each one. I felt ready to go back to work by then.
