Hi all. I’ve just got my smear results back and there are no abnormal cells but they found HPV so I have to go back for another smear in a years time. First time the test has come back like this. I’m 34.
I’ve been reading up online and some sites are saying if you have HPV and HSV-2 there’s an increased risk of cervical cancer. I contracted the latter through my partner about 2 years ago now.
I’m now really upset and stressed reading that HSV-2 can increase the risk of cervical cancer as I didn’t know that. With HVP on top of it I’m just so worried now. Is it worth me getting the HPV vaccine to reduce the risk?
Is there anybody here who has both and have been okay? I just need my mind easing a little. Thank you in advance.
