I have had leetz quite a few years back due to HPV and pre cancerous cells… eventually all clear and ok. Went to normal smears 2019. I then had it last year and it showed up HPV again despite the last one being negative which means I’m due to have it again next month… I have had the odd bit of bleeding after sex. Due to the history I get a bit concerned and asked the GP and she said a bit of spotting is fine and it wasn’t every time so don’t worry. I had sex on Sunday and bled after… I thought great, little bit into Monday. Since Tuesday I have had bad period like pain really low down in my pelvis. Today it is worse. It is worse when I move about particularly if I go up and down stairs and sit up and down, almost like something is in the way?! Can’t get a GP apt nor speak to anyone.

i do the sti checks i can get delivered to home and the last one i did was in July and it was negative to syphalis and gonorrea (sp) and having googled and trying to work out what is going on, other than gynae issues it could be either of those… i have a long term partner and neither of us have slept with anyone else and his last test was earlier last year so I don’t think it could be STI related. I rang the sex health clinic and waiting for a call back but may take a couple of days. I don’t know if I should be worrying? Just to add I’m the cerazette pill so do not have any spotting of any periods for quite a few years and I haven’t missed any. I can’t be pregnant either as he has had the snip and I’m still on the pill. I’m not bleeding anymore it’s just the pain.

can anyone shed any light as to what might be going on? I haven’t had this before and worried it could mean something is going to show up on my smear…

Could be ectropion cervix:

But you need a speculum examination to rule out anything sinister.

@Umph thanks for replying. I came across that when googling.. doesn’t mention the pain though which is my concern… I’m not bleeding nor have any discharge etc

Could well be that pill
I had bleeding after taking it for years
It stopped as soon as I stopped taking it

Legaldispair · 02/11/2023 15:29

I don’t think it will be the pill as I have been on it many many years with no bleeding or any issues at all…

The longer you are on it the more likely it could cause ectropion

Ah ok I didn’t know that. Can’t get a GP for a month because it isn’t urgent just rang them … 😐
