High risk hpv

Hpv and cell changes first detected 5 years ago. Had colposcopy and all looked very healthy so went bk in 2021.

2021 = hpv but cells normal
2022 = hpv but cells normal
2023 = hpv but cells normal but now the letter talks about high risk hpv and sending me for colposcopy again.

I've had a baby in last 12 months and basically been celibate for a year. Nothing touched cervix as had a c section. Yet hpv still there and now 'high risk'. I'm sure high risk phrase wasn't used in 2021 and 2022.

I know cells are normal but I'm freaking out that still have hpv after all this time and now it seems to be high risk variety thar wasn't there before even after year of 0 sexual activity. Has anyone been through similar? I'm so anxious

Yeah it's so common
It will have always been the high risk strain
They call you in after 3 consecutive positive results
Sexual activity in the last year or so will have no baring on this at all
We can have it in our systems for decades and it can come and go
Don't worry you will be fine

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure it's just routine and at least I'm being checked but so nerve wracking when you get the letter. I wish I knew how to get hpv out of my system for good

Think they only do a biopsy if they see something

Ok just wondered if was a routine yearly thing as it worries me about future pregnancies as I’ve had six miscarriages already no children yet :( and don’t really want more biopsies in a few weeks at the apt as I think can cause further risk. Just hard when not getting much help and guidance :( a lot of worry at the moment again.
