Frustrated unexplained bleeding/ pain

Hi I'm wondering if any one has any advice or has experienced anything similar . After having my son 11 months ago I had normal regular periods for about 4/5 months then three months of no bleeding at all. Then a heavy bleed every couple of weeks. Then no bleeding for 7 weeks. Now 3 heavy bleeds two weeks apart -had to be put on tranexamic acid. I understand hormone can go out of whack for a year after birth but I started getting the niggly side pain around my right ovary when I had three months no periods I feel it more when im bleeding was very sharp yesterday for a little while . Doctor thought fibroids or ovarian cyst but Had internal scan this morning but that was showing normal structure no cysts no fibroids. Obviously definitely not pregnant and this has been ongoing for .months. very frustrated

Many thanks in advance

Meant to add I am almost 30 so not very likely to be perimenopause

Have you had a colposcopy? I had similar symptoms to you and the colposcopy uncovered that I had an ectropian, which was very sensitive and bled at the slightest touch. My consultant said it is more common apparently if you've been on birth control for a while and have given birth xx

Thanks so much for your reply! I had a smear test a couple of months ago that was clear so haven't had colposcopy. I will ask my doctor about that when I see him next week . Did you have one sided pain when you had that at all? Mine is very right sided right next to hip Sometimes I get a sharp pain next to my belly button on the right side too it's very odd ! Xx

I have had the odd stab/twinge around that area but don't know if that is just general pains like ovulation or similar!

My GP reckoned it was an ectropion from the smear I had and then it was confirmed at colposcopy, but colposcopy can flag up other cervix-related issues too.

I would say keep pushing your doctor for more tests, I know how debilitating and draining the bleeding is xx

Hi I had a baby at 30, 13 months post partum this started happening to me. I am now 34 and it’s still happening. Have seen 3 gynaecologists, had a smear, an ultrasound, and a hysteroscopy. Nothing found. Same as you describe. Terrified to have sex as it’s painful. I have had the coil fitted since January and I’m still spotting! Xx
