Breast cancer risk and the mini pill

Hi, I have a family history of breast cancer (mum - 74, maternal auntie - 50s, 2 maternal great aunties) just wondered about the risk associated. I haven't had genetic testing. I'm 43, perimenopausal and mum to 2 boys.

I’ve got a similar family history and was told no way should I go on the combined pill, but the mini pill is much safer. No idea on the stats tho. I’m on it to prevent migraines rather than for contraception if that is relevant?

To be honest, I've been prescribed it by an online Superdrug doctor. He told me it would be OK but now my minds playing tricks on me and I'm doubting myself. My own GP was reluctant to prescribe it without checking with the gynae team... ut instead she's referred me to the menopause clinic but my appointment isn't until August 2024!!!

I'm taking it to help with period pain and in the hope that it will help with my mental health. I've been pretty desperate lately!

Thank you so much for the reply :)
