First period after c-section

If you had a c-section, when did your periods return? Were your symptoms different from before pregnancy (e.g. more/less intense cramps, headaches, etc)?

For context, I'm 3 weeks postpartum and I've been formula feeding and expressing. Was wondering when people in similar circumstances first got their periods back. Don't want to be alarmed if I start to have pain and fresh blood thinking something's wrong with scar healing!

Hey, I had a c section in February. My periods returned in August. Was a short and light period at first and no pain. I then had another period about 2 weeks later that was longer and heavier. Since then they’ve become more regular, I would say they are actually lighter and less painful than before pregnancy. Which is a bonus as I have endometriosis and before pregnancy they were awful (I’ve heard pregnancy can ‘help’ endometriosis).
I should say I combi fed for about 2-3 weeks (low milk supply to start) and then have exclusively breast feed since.
hope that’s helpful x

Yes I had C section too, and my period game after 3 months as I combi fed but then I mainly was doing 90% formula and 10% expressed. I had light bleeding then I got them regularly after that. I feel the pain a bit more after my pregnancy but before I got pregnant they were irregular due to stress. I do t think the scar is bleeding you’d no for sure as it Be painful I assume. Hope that helps

Thank you, very helpful! I'm in a similar situation to @Eejitmum101 (about 90% FF and 10% expressing) so I probably should expect first period soon
