I had a mirena (hormonal coil) fitted after childbirth. Long story, I had issues postnatally and needed a hysterescopy and the gynaecologist put the mirena in then. I haven’t had a single period since before my pregnancy. I have been breastfeeding too. My daughter is 13 months now. Should I be concerned that I haven’t had a period at all? I know the mirena can stop periods and I know breastfeeding stop periods too, but my daughter doesn’t drink that much milk these days as she eats so many solids. I thought I would have had at least one or two light periods, rather than just nothing. I’m worried that I have damage as a result of my postnatal issues.
