Hi all, I'm not sure which thread to post this in. I am undergoing IVF treatment in Spain and 2 weeks ago had a procedure to removal a 2cm uterine fibroid under general anaesthetic. According to the surgeon the procedure went well and he was happy with the outcome. We flew back to the UK where recovery was slow and very painful tbh. I then attended a clinic here in the UK yesterday to review endometrial lining/uterine recovery only to find that the fibroid is still there - now measuring marginally less at 1.8cm. We are heartbroken as this means we cannot move forward with our IVF treatment (we are older and had hoped to move as quickly as possible with the process having already had some terrible IVF experiences). We are so confused and now questioning what exactly the surgeon did 2 weeks ago! They are recommending we go through the procedure again! More pain and expense. There has been no explanation for this outcome. We have organised a consultation with the surgeon today but I cant get my head around any of this. Has anyone experienced this or can give any advice at all? Have we been taken advantage of? The clinic we are attending in Spain comes highly recommended which makes it all the more confusing. I would really appreciate any support at all with this. Thanks xx

It doesn't sound as though the surgeon in Spain removed the fibroid? If he did, it wouldn't show up on the scan image?

I would definitely be looking for answers now. Does the same surgeon want to redo the procedure? If so, why if the previous one went well?

Is it definitely a fibroid which was detected back in the UK?

So many questions I'm afraid.
