Bleeding after partial hysterectomy

I'm sorry if there is a thread on this already but I just wanted to know if anyone out there has had a partial hysterectomy, I've had my uterus and tubes removed leaving me with ovaries and cervix, I've had a small bleed I'm unsure if this is a period or not? My consultant said I might have light period but my GP said absolutely not. I am now 6 weeks post op and feeling so much better from this fibroids and partial hysterectomy. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thank you

If your uterus has been removed, I can’t see how you can have a period 🤔

@DustyLee123 I was thinking the same.

It may just be that you're bleeding as part of the healing process, for example, the stitches coming away, or it could be vaginal atrophy, depending on your age and menopausal status, but worth checking out with the hospital. It won't be a period if you haven't got a uterus. Although the only other thing might be endometriosis if you have that, I suppose, though that is just a thought, I am not sure. I had a total hysterectomy and the leaflet that I got from the hospital said my period should return in six weeks, obviously nobody had proofed it Grin.

Thanks for the reply, I'm 44 and was regular before hand,no menopausal symptoms. I've no endometriosis just had fibroids.i was a bit concerned that I'd not bled a drop at all in 6 weeks and now I am. I'm due back at work next week and don't want any set backs
