Nexplanon bright red blood?

Has anyone had bright red bleeding on Nexplanon? I had it fitted 4 weeks ago.

Today I bled after sex. I went to the walk in centre and she looked and said the blood looked like it was coming out of my cervix like a period. She said the blood around my cervix looked a brown colour but what is coming out is a bright red, maybe slightly pink colour. She wasn't concerned. But I've posted about it on a group and someone said bright red blood is fresh and concerning so now of course I'm worried again. I have seen posts of people bleeding after sex on Nexplanon and I've never bled after sex before. But I did have a period a few days after getting Nexplanon put in and that was red too?

This bleeding has been going on for 10 hours although it is tailing off. It was less than a period bleed but more than spotting.

Anyone else had any experiences like this?

The implant can make periods more or less frequent and heavier or lighter than normal. You just don't know what it'll be like until you have it in and each implant can be different (even if you have them in back to back). This is coming from a long-term user of them. It sounds like it's your period and nothing to worry about.

@PrudeyTwoShoes Thank you. It seems like a huge coincidence for it to start after sex though. I have had slightly sore boobs today though and some very mild tummy & back niggles for a day or two (which I'd always get before starting my period prior to Nexplanon)
