Levosert coil positive stories if still bleeding at 5 months

Had my second Levosert fitted 5 months ago. With my first bled on and off for the first 3 months and then it seemed to morph into having a light period once a month for a few months then no bleeding for 4 years. This time I am on month 5 and still no let up. I get a week off now and again but still bleeding most days. A mix of brown spotting and red light bleeding. I am now worried that it won't settle in the final month and then what? All literature says it should settle between 3 and 6 months and if not go get checked out but if they say the bleeding is definitely linked to the coil ( regular periods in my coil free year between the two) then what are alternatives? Will the copper coil be any better? I can't have oestrogen and need long term contraception but I can't go on with the constant bleeding.....

Hi how are you getting on? Is that a progesterone coil? I have mirena, been 10 months and I’m still spotting most days xxx

Yes. I am over the 6 month mark now. I had a run of 4 bleed free day but there's something most days. Usually light bleeding, sometimes spotting. Levosert is basically the same as merina.

Mirena 😳

It’s awful isn’t it. I still hung onto hope it would stop at 7/8 months but here we are coming up to one year xxx
