Deep pain in breast

Almost like a stabbing pain, but very slow.

I went to the dr about this and had a mammogram/ scan. They were quite dismissive because my breast looked normal and they couldn’t find a lump. It is on my left side and the dr actually thought the right felt a bit lumpy. Nothing showed up on the mammogram (they took extra care over the right and did extra 'slices', but not the left even though I went to the dr about the left 🙄).

Anyway, they found a lump when scanning and did a punch biopsy (left side). Which came back normal. No extra mammograms on the left.

All good and the end of everything for them - nothing also to do. Except I still have pain sometimes quite bad (hence me writing this now)….

Would you go back to the dr? Ignore because it came back as normal? I still can't actually feel the lump externally.

I have cysts that I found when they started to hurt. Sometimes a pulling dragging pain and I couldn’t always feel the lumps with my fingers. I had a mammogram and when they spotted the main culprits they drained them with a syringe straight away. I can feel another one that hurts on and off now but didn’t get them to drain it at the time as it took me by surprise and I had had enough after they had done the two.

So the lump they found is probably a harmless cyst but not sure why they didn’t tell you that or drain it for you. They drained the entire thing and sent it off for biopsy. I saw it disappear on the screen. It took them seconds.

Try going back to the doctor and say you'd like to find out what's causing the pain. There are a range of things that can cause breast pain and you'd like the pain investigated further.

I assume (but don’t know) that it is the lump causing the pain. The lump was solid, I assume? She put a needle in and I had to hold still while it punched a sample. It came back clear (benign) and that was that. I still have the pain. I know they won’t operate unnecessarily, but it is actually quite painful sometimes and I worry about what’s going on. I do have a fear of cancer in general.
