Is this a decidual cast?

Hello all,
I passed this lump a few months ago and at the time thought it may have been a decidual cast. It was firm when I squeezed it.

I didn't visit the doctor but every now and then become worried about it.

I cant call the doc till Monday to make an appointment and am feeling concerned.

What do you think?

I had one, it was quite a bit bigger than that though because I was only about 8 weeks post birth. I washed mine and it was a light pink under the blood, was yours a different colour?

I took a picture to my GP because I was so horrified. They told me not to worry about it and I haven't had another since!!

I didn't try to wash it. I was also horrified and flushed it before thinking I should have kept it. I was 18 months post partum so I don't think it was related to my pregnancy. I had changed my diet significantly that month (started keto). I wonder if that impacted my uterus.

Mine was bigger than that, and a cream colour. Looked a bit like the skin off a rice pudding.

That's just a bog standard clot. Definitely not a decidual cast.

Orlielwood · 14/10/2023 16:39

It was very firm which made me worry it wasn't a clot.

I think it's a small clot.

renata2485 · 14/10/2023 16:41

Whatever it was, I certainly wouldn't waste my time (or the Dr's!) worrying about it months later!

Mine was bigger too. Absolutely terrified when it happened.
