Lumpy armpits

Every few months I get a painful lump in my armpit, I've always assumed they were ingrown hairs occurring shortly after shaving, but they were infrequent, solo, and cleared up quickly. Over the last few weeks I am getting really painful multiple ones, in both armpits, right now I have 5 in my left arm pit.

I assumed it is my razor (going to throw it out and try not shaving for a little while), I'm assuming as they're painful and in both armpits I don't need to worry about anything more ominous, I'm going to the drs on Weds, but anyone have any experience of this?

Is it Hidradenitis suppurativa?

Do you use anti perspirant? If it is blocking the pores, perhaps try deodorant instead.

I don't think it's as severe as that on Googling, they're clearing up after a couple days but another popping up, and more like ingrown hair bumps than big lumps.

I use dove spray (so I think anti perspirant) and have done for decades (although noticed I sweat more now so wonder if it's changed ingredients) I did go through a phase of using it day and night so likely worth me considering.

Get them checked by GP, armpits are an area renowned for cysts
