Period going on for 2 whole weeks

I had my usual symptoms that my period was due to start on day 21 of my cycle, breast pains, spotting and cramps then the flow didn’t get any heavier and has carried on like a very very light flow for the past 2 weeks now. Sometimes it’s like tiny clots in it too. I usually have normal to heavy flow lasting 4-5 days average, so this is very weird for me.
I’m getting through so many packs of panty liners it’s frustrating.
I have been taking Maca powder for about 4 months now to help with hormonal changes like pmt, and headaches so don’t know if it’s anything to do with this, though previous months have been normal while taking it.
I am at the peri stage, but my periods have been completely normal for months still.

The most obvious cause would be perimenopause, since you say you're at that stage.

Sounds like peri. Consider a mirena coil before you become anaemic.

Peri. My 50th birthday gave me a 16 day wonder. Equally, I've had 2 day ones. I've not really had any symptoms beside periods going irregular, in period length, heaviness and cycle length. There is just no pattern any more, when I was previously pretty regular.

I'm currently at 4 months, still waiting for the HRT to kick in ;(

So did you class the 16 day one as an actual period? As I’m not sure whether to log mine as a period or not considering it’s very light then kinda stops then starts again, especially when I go for a pee

The 16 day one, definitely - it started with flooding a Paris hotel bed on my birthday. Memorable for many reasons...

But others have been a couple of days of light bleeding that was barely more than spotting. For me, if it's more than one day, I'll call it a period. But in any case, I have tracked every single period I've ever had, and I'd mark down spotting as much as a normal bleeding or flooding.

Well after 3 whole weeks of spotting/light bleeding, my actual period arrived on Friday with my usual regular/heavy flow and cramps, so relieved about this.
Have found it really annoying having to wear certain types of underwear over the last 3 weeks and not being able to wear anything too brief, not to mention the amount of panty liners I’ve been through. Anyway I hope this was a one off.
Will continue taking my Maca and maybe upping my daily intake of it.

Maca isn't going to do a lot for you. Mirena coil or HRT might.
