Period products tested with menstrual blood?

Just been reading an article on Invisible Women about testing period products with menstrual blood and I guess I just wanted to get thoughts about it. TLDR; there’s a study which says most period products have a lower absorbency capacity than they claim, probably because they’ve been tested with non-blood liquids.

I mean personally seems stupid that they are only testing with saline or water. But for me, there are a range of products available for diff flow days: it's intuitive enough to know what I need and I’ve never really had massive problems so I guess I’m wondering whether ‘tested with blood’ is something I should start looking for when buying?

I wouldn’t say I’ve got particularly heavy flow so the absorbency issue isn’t so important for me but for someone who sees different issues with flow or cycles, the implications may be more obvious.
