Can anyone help me with abnormal bleeding?
So, this is gonna be a long one!
For the past 4 years I've been having bleeding inbetween my periods. Usually I have a 7 day period, then around day 10 the bleeding comes back for 4-7 days. Every month.
I've had every test there is. Smear test, ultrasound, vaginal swabs, hormone blood test, pelvic MRI, a hysteroscopy with biopsies and most recently a laparotomy to remove a big ovarian cyst. So a surgeon has literally cut me open, had a look at my uterus and ovaries, and stitched me back up.
There was no cause found for my bleeding. Removing the ovarian cyst hasn't fixed it.
Things are getting worse. Today I am on day 13 of my period - this month it didn't stop on day 7 and then come back, it just continued on through - and I woke up to a HUGE bleed this morning. Extremely heavy, 4 or 5 big clots. I was scared and rang my doctor.
They prescribed me tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding, but luckily it stopped on its own eventually. It's just spotting/light bleeding now.
I'm not on any form of contraception. I've tried them all, they don't help. The only medication I take is antidepressants. I have a slightly underactive thyroid but not currently bad enough for treatment (absolutely joke if you ask me).
Does anyone have ANY ideas what could be causing this? Doctors just send me away since I don't have cancer or endometriosis or fibroids or PCOS or ANYTHING. Could it be the thyroid? Is it just "one of those things" as doctors keep telling me?
I'm sick of it.
