How to stop breakthrough bleeding?? Help!

I’m about halfway through my pill pack and have come on my period, and I’m getting married next week! My breakthrough bleeding happens a lot and can last for over a week, and it’s always quite heavy.

Does anyone know how to stop it? I’d read somewhere you should stop your pill pack for a few days then start again but I’m worried whether that will work? Or should I persevere with taking my pill and hope it stops?

I was getting this when I was running pill packets together (on medical advice). My consultant then advised me to double up on pills, so one in the morning and one in the evening. I've gone about 6 months without any bleeding and it's been great. If you're bleeding, stop taking the pill now (that's always the advice) have a 4 day break, and then maybe double up going forward?
