Pop pill and IUD theories, help!

So I'm done with being on hormonal pills, I am currently booked in for the copper IUD later this week. I am worried about the unexpected bleeding and stuff though throughout, I have a big night planned later this month.. my sex life is to occasionally do it with close friends, this could be every weekend or like once a month, I usually plan ish but obvs it's a bit luck of draw too.
So I've wondered two things .
A. Would being on the pop pill just when I need it be an option? Take it a few days before potential sex, and stop it a few days after (5 days for sperm to have left etc). This seems like quite a good idea but problem is if I have sex two weekends in a row or get a whole month planned of it, then I may as well stay on it and that's a no no cause of the hormones I don't want.
B. Or another option I have the copper IUD but when I get bleeding I take the pop pill just to deflect the bleeding.. I mean would this even work though? If so that may be quite useful..
Let me know what anyone thinks please, just wanna chat to some other women about all the fuckery that is birth control!

I think condoms might be your solution…

Yeah tbh I know, I am aware of condoms but I don't want to wear them otherwise that would be an easier fix. but just not my thing tbh, also I don't sleep with complete random so it's not completely necessary for like the other reasons

Why are you getting the copper over the Mirena? Mirena stops periods completely usually, and it has a tiny amount of hormone compared to the pill so you wouldn’t have to take anything extra.

Another vote for mirena. The bleeding is non existent and the hormones don't feel as "there" as with any pills I've taken. My sex drive is better on it than on any pill and you don't have to think about it. I did have the copper for a while but had to get rid after a few months as the bleeding was madness and my anaemia was bad.

I don't think you can just take what you want when you want to! You have to think about the effects on your body - breast/uterine lining cells in particular. Why not have the Mirena coil fitted - you will stop bleeding altogether - it secretes progesterone.

Thank you so much for the advice about the mirena I honestly didn't have a clue about this, cause it has hormones i obvs didn't think to look it up or bother enquiring about it. Yeah cause even mini pill made me just low libido and feel a bit numb, I had increased anxiety and lost all confidence, this isn't the case on the mirena then? Very interesting!

Thank you I will definitely enquire about this then, I just didn't even look it up as it had hormones, but if it's a low amount and I keep my sex drive and confidence then I'm interested, just as long as it really doesn't take me back to square 1
