Feeling weird post hysteroscopy - normal?!

Had a 'surprise' hysteroscopy on Thursday following some post-menopausal bleeding - I was given an appt 'with the gynaecologist' by phone and didn't realise a hysteroscopy would be involved until I was being asked to consent... Figured I'd be better getting it over with so went for it. (Of course I just got the appointment letter this morning saying I might want to take some painkillers in advance... Thanks for that!).

Anyway, went ahead without any pain relief and it was uncomfortable but fine. Results all good, no biopsy, nothing removed... I felt OK immediately afterwards, and they said while I might want to consider resting it was up to me, so (possibly stupidly) I went straight back to work - actually went away for the night for a work meeting. It wasn't until that evening the cramps and bleeding kicked in, again not terrible but definitely not pleasant even through ibuprofen. Pushed through the meeting the next morning on more painkillers but came home early and went straight to bed last night for a LONG sleep. This morning in terms of physical symptoms I've been a lot better, just a little crampy, but I still feel ... weird, for want of a better word. Don't know how to describe it really, just kind of shaky and fragile. No symptoms of infection or anything, just Not Quite Right if you see what I mean. Is this normal? Did I just overdo things a bit straight afterwards and just need to take it easy for the rest of the weekend?

The main reason I'm asking is that I'm supposed to be going away to another country for work next week. I feel a bit blindsided by the hysteroscopy and having been away haven't had a chance to discuss anything with work. But now I'm worried that of course any medical issues that did arise from the hysteroscopy would count as preexisting conditions for insurance purposes, and I'm supposed to be leaving first thing Monday morning (after staying at a hotel at the airport Sunday) so no chance to discuss with anyone at work over the weekend. Any advice on what's normal post-hysteroscopy would be much appreciated so I can decide whether I should just call the trip off!

I've had two. The bleeding and cramps are normal unless they persist for more than a few days.

Sounds like the shaky feeling could be post-traumatic stress? Main thing is you've had the all clear, but your body could still be in shock from the very sudden procedure.

How are you feeling today?

Thanks, that's reassuring! Yes feeling a lot better - actually at Gatwick now going for the flight so fingers crossed! Did feel very weird for a while there but yes, probably just a sort of mild shock!
