Itchy vagina

I don't want to really ask but I do!

I have had thrush in the past many times and know what it's like.
This is different. I have such an itch outside the vagina. And it's always in the same place. It can get so bad that the skin will start peeling off. I have tried the Canestan thrush cream but it doesn't relieve the symptoms.

Anyone have any idea of what it can be?

There's no funny discharge or pain anywhere. Just an extreme itch that never goes away. And in the same place!

You might need vagifem. It works brilliantly to reduce itching.

I've had similar. Possibly lichen simplex and it's made worse by scratching! Go to a GP and get some strong steroid cream to give relief then some follow up moisturiser for very sensitive skin e.g. Eucerin.

I should add, mine was always in same place. Consultant dermatologist asked where this was (left side). He asked was I right handed (I am). There was my answer. I scratch with my right hand on my left side!

It can be a sign of pre-diabetes. You might rule that out.

Vagisil should solve it!

How old are you?

If peri-menopausal age then Ovestin cream (inside and out)

If wrong age or that doesn't work then maybe lichen sclerosis

Can you elaborate? Left side and using right hand? That's me!

It's definitely not since I've had bloods taken to check this

I am 29 so don't think I'd fall into that category...yet

Is it worth getting a self test kit that tests thrush and BV? Or is it definitely not that?

I mean the itching was always on one side (outer labia). I must have been scratching without realising I.e. at night, using right hand to scratch. The more you scratch the worse it gets so becomes localised in the area you scratch most.
