Norethisterone - help!!

I started noreistherone on day 18 of my cycle as felt as though period was coming and wanted to delay it past this weekend. I am on day three now of taking it and just feel like crap and can't take it. If I stop now, is that going to cause any issues and will it bring my period on?

Hi OP. Have you taken it in the past? In what way do you feel bad? How long are your cycles usually? Do you know when/if you ovulated this cycle? Sorry did all the questions.

Standard guidance is that you’ll get your period within 48 hours of taking the last pill. For me though, I seem to be very sensitive to the progesterone and it can take up to 4 days. So you may be fine to get through the weekend if you stop now. If you’ve taken it in the past what happened then is likely to be a good guide.

Also if your cycles are usually longer than 21 days it’s really unlikely that stopping the pills on its own will give you a super early period.

My period started on day 3 after stopping norethisterone

I've not taken it before and I just feel crampy, so low and it's not the mood I want to be in for this weekend now. Id rather be on my period!! Not sure re ovulation either.

It doesn't say how long to take it for so just worried it won't bring a period on now and mess up my cycles!

Once you stop taking it your period normally starts within 2-3 days. In my experience your cycle then follows on from that period rather than when your period would originally have been due.

I have taken it twice and both times it took over a week for it to get out of my system. But it's probably one of those things that is a bit trial and error.

I also took it for around a week both times, not sure if the amount makes any difference!
