Boils/acne in private areas

Due to see dermatologist at the end of the month but that is to start spironolactone for acne and hormonal issues. My question is about boils near the bum area where underwear sits. I’ve got them on my chest, shoulders and back quite big and the same pop up down there. It can be very painful wearing underwear sometimes. I find that they come and go in the same place. GP prescribed me an antibiotic called Flucloxacillin 500mg 4 x a day, but I’ve not taken it yet as I want to get to the cause not just mask it. I’m not sure if I should just try the antibiotic… this is really embarrassing and it’s not something I can just bring up to anyone. Not found much information online about this either. I shower once a day and I’ve been putting duac on the areas as thats the only cream I’ve got, but not noticed any change.

I wear cotton knickers from H&M and haven’t worn a thong for many years. I don’t shave or at least very rarely if at all because of this issue. So I don’t think ingrown hair is the cause.

Look up hidradenitis suppurativa. That generally affects the groin, underarms and under the breasts, but it causes what look like boils in those areas. I'm not sure about shoulders and back, though.

Do you get them under your breasts and in your axilla ? Look up Hidradentis suppariva which is a condition causing infections/ boils and needs specialist dermatology intervention.

No I’ve got a couple of scars on boob/chest area from similar. Massive cystic acne that leaves scars so I try to be careful with them more now. Shoulders, upper back sometimes facial typically hormonal. I’m guessing they are caused by the same issue. I want to ask the dermatologist but I know he or she will ask to look. I’m a bit embarrassed but I suppose I have to grow up and face that.
