UTI and surgery on Thursday?

I have a UTI, mild symptoms but it’s not gone away since Thursday. Been drinking loads of water and took the powder sachets but it’s not got better. My wee is cloudy and it feels a little uncomfortable. I’m going the gp tomorrow, I think I may need antibiotics to clear it. I have an op on Thursday. It should be a short procedure but it’s not going to be pleasant (tmi it’s in my back passage and I’m very anxious). I think I may have to go under general, I’m a little worried about a catheter being put in, is this going to make things much worse? And the proximity from bottom to bladder. I’m worried. To top it off my period is also due that day. :(

Ime the antibiotics clear it pretty fast and you can get them fairly easily - I'd give the surgical team a ring in the morning and let them advise you.

I know how you feel - I'm also having a minor op this week and I'm pretty nervous!

Sorry to hear you’re having surgery too. it’s not nice. I’ve had major gynae surgery in the past so I shouldn’t be so worried- but this procedure is scaring me. The uti couldn’t have come at a worse time!

I'm just focusing on how much better I'm going to feel. I hope you can do that too.

@QuestionableMouse thanks for checking in, I’m doing okay thank you, how about you? I hope your surgery went well. My bladder went to sleep after the surgery but managed to go after 8hrs, I was so anxious that the uti had spread but I am okay now I think. The antibiotics seemed to work but I may think I need a longer course, will see how it goes.
