Painful heavy periods

Hi, I’ve never suffered from period pains in the past. Right now I’m in so much pain I can’t talk or stand up straight. If labour is a 10 score I’m at a solid 8. Currently in bed after taking painkillers which has eased it a bit. Has this happened to anyone else? I was 3 days late this time, I’m usually 26 days, my last cycle before this one was only 19 days? Do periods just get more painful as you get older? Thanks

My periods were always horrendous. After trying different meds I had an endometrial ablation to cauterise the lining of the uterus.
Brilliant! Had no periods for 5 years then only a tiny bit of pink spotting for a day.
Can only be done if you're finished having children though.

They can. Mine got heavier and more painful. So painful to the point I would be unable to walk and almost vomiting it was so sore.

It was discovered I had fibroids and then endometriosis. So yes, they can get more painful. Sorry. I hope things ease soon. The dr prescribed Mefanemic acid (for pain) and tranexamic acid (heavy bleeding) and they worked well for several years.

Thanks for the replies, I have been ok today. No pain at all. I will see how the next few periods go and then go and see the doctor if they are the same. X
