Vomiting before period - please help

Hi all I'm new here.
My dd is 17 and has always had problematic periods, before commencing the pill they were very heavy, painful and she would feel very nauseous & faint. The pill sorted these symptoms but she unfortunately gained an enormous amount of weight very quickly so she stopped taking it.

Since stopping the pill she now experiences extreme nausea, to the point of actually vomiting a couple of days before she starts bleeding. Last evening she felt very faint and unwell then proceeded to be violently sick, just the once. I initially thought it was perhaps a sick bug or something she had eaten, but when I seen her period was due I made the possible connection.
She is now experiencing cramps, but no bleed so I believe her period is about to start. (She's definitely not pregnant)
We have an appointment at the sexual health clinic next week to discuss options available for her.
I created this Mumsnet account to ask if anyone has experienced this type of PMT or perhaps knows if someone who does? There are small amounts of information on line regarding period sickness but I thought I'd ask here.
Many thanks 😊

That used to be me when I was a teenager. I used to have severe pains to point I'd pass out, vomit and spend the day on the toilet passing stools.
I got no help beyond the pill which I petrified to come off and have the pain start again.
After many years of hormonal contraception my pcos was very out of control and I was very ill.
I wouldn't do it again. But now I'm older the pain has massively decreased.

I have found that ibuprofen massively reduces pain and flow for me, and hot baths are god sends.

There are options for alternative pain relief such as tranexamic acid.

Fingers crossed it works out for you guys.

Thank you for your response.
My concern is the vomiting before the actual period starts, the days before.
Whilst she has her period the sickness stops.
