Spotting between periods after intercourse and exercise?

Twice now I've started spotting mid cycle, it's very light, but definitely out of the ordinary. Both times it has happened after having intercourse the day before, and exercising in the day of. So I'm not sure if it's sex or exercise which has caused it?

I have a scan booked tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone has had mid cycle spotting and what the cause of it was? Thanks

I used to spot after running, a good many years ago now. I had an internal scan and the only conclusion was that one of my ovaries had some cysts on it, but they were not concerned. It's now 10 years, 2 kids further on and it doesn't happen anymore. It's good you are having a scan, but hopefully it is nothing.

How old are u? I have had this for many a year now. Was sent for a scan and there was nothing there. My doctor put it down to being perimenopausal and the contraceptive pill I was on was changed to see if that made a difference. But it hasn’t. So now I spot a lot of the time and has happened after sex.

don’t worry urself too much. I think ( from threads I have read ) it is fairly common.

Thanks guys that's reassuring to hear. In fact it was after running specifically.

I am 32 and have regular periods so not sure if being peri menopausal would be likely?

Hi all, just wanted to update, I had a scan which was clear. Sonographer said hormonal issues can cause irregular bleeding.
