How long does it take to get a coil appointment?

I had my 6 week postnatal check 5 weeks ago now, the doctor asked me about contraception and I said I'd like the copper coil so she said she'd put me on the waiting list to get one.
I've not heard anything about an appointment yet, if you had a coil fitted how long did it take for your appointment to come through? I'd call my GP and ask but they're pretty useless and just tell me I have to wait so I have no idea how long this is going to take!

Depends really. Our waiting list has over 40 women waiting and we do 4 a week. But then you may have the doctor or the nurse off so some weeks might have none. Depends on how they run their clinics too.

Depends how often they do a clinic. At least you've got on the list. I've got a 4 week wait for a routine appointment to discuss it
